I have learned valuable skills by working alongside my pépère Audie Carrière. He is a commercial fisherman on Lake Manitoba and an avid outdoorsman. Since I was a baby, we would go out on the lake together where he taught me to harvest fish, berries, asparagus, nuts, and other foods that would allow me to live off the land. In the spring and fall we would also often go for wood together to stack for the winter months. This is where I found my interest in the art of woodwork.
