Through the establishment of NewNation, Wilfred Jimmy (Thunderchild) and Albert Derocher (Flying Dust) joined forces to provide consulting services to both Indigenous Nations seeking to create sustainable economic prosperity within their communities, as well as to private sector companies seeking to do the socially responsible thing by engaging Indigenous nations for the purpose of long-term economic development. At NewNation, we are passionate about developing and implementing long-term sustainable business opportunities for Indigenous nations to support nation-building, to advance Indigenous leaders’ vision for economic development, to break the cycle of poverty, and to bring about shared prosperity for Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples across Canada.
