About

My name is Holden Ricard, the owner of Holden’s Honey Hollow. I am 16 years old and I live on a small farm in the beautiful Turtle Mountains with my Mom and Dad. Since I was a baby I have been saving my family allowance. I wanted to invest my savings into a business that could turn into a career. At the age of 14 I purchased 12 bee hives, a small 10 frame honey extractor and a few tools to get me started. I ran into many challenges along the way and learned a lot of lessons about hive management and bookkeeping. This spring I increased the size of my apiary to 36 hives with the purchase of a few more hives and bees. I also joined the local farmers market and set up once a week to sell my honey and beeswax products. My short term goals are to buy more bee hives and expand the apiary. The long term goals are to develop my production with larger honey extractors, a honey bottling tank, wax melter, uncapping tank and a CFIA government certified honey house. Products I am currently selling include natural raw honey, raw beeswax, beeswax candles, lip balm and beeswax food wraps. I am very grateful to have lots of support from my family and many wonderful friends who encourage me to learn and grow.
