Glenn Hewgill descends from a long line of old time fiddle players. As a young Métis boy he had the privilege of listening and learning from his Grandfathers who enjoyed playing old time fiddle music. He loves the sound of the Fiddle, the joy and spirit of the dance it brings out in people. He started studying the Fiddle at the age of six and was instructed by many Great Fiddle players over the years. He has won several awards and contests such as the “International Métis Fest” and the “Andy Dejarlais Memorial” He has been teaching the Fiddle, playing for festivals, and playing professionally in bands for over twenty years now and enjoy passing on his knowledge and passion for the music to friends and individuals.
