Today she focuses primarily on charcoal and graphite, continuing to refine her practice under the guidance of the Jill Sawatsky Art Studio in Killarney, Manitoba. Before dedicating more time to her art, Dawn spent most of her career as a hairdresser in Portage la Prairie, where creativity and meaningful connections with people were central to her work. She now channels that same passion and attention to detail into her expressive drawings. A proud citizen of the Red River Métis, Dawn finds inspiration in her heritage, family, and the beauty of everyday life. She is also a proud wife, mother, and grandmother.
